About

Vytautas Zirgulis was born on November 4, 1962 in Kaunas, Lithuania, to a musician mother and an actor-photographer father.

After studying of pictorial art at the academy of arts (1986-1992) he lived in Panevezys before moving to Vilnius.

Today Vytautas Zirgulis lives in Vilnius and creates in his arts studio in Uptown district. There he totally devotes himself to his vocation as a painter and brings his ideas to life. To date, V. Zirgulis has organized over 15 personal exhibitions in Lithuania as well as abroad (most recently in La Galerie Thuillier in Paris, France) and participated in numerous other art events and projects. His works are appreciated as much by Lithuanian collectors as by foreigners.

His activity is not limited to the field of easel painting, in fact, he is also renowned as a mural artist and a decorator. 

In addition, for over 15 years Vytautas Zirgulis has been working as a painting and drawing teacher at M.K. Ciurlionis national arts school. He gives the students of this prestigious school the benefit of his gift as a teacher and thus train the new generation of Lithuanian artists. 

Since 1995 V. Zirgulis has been a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association and was the chairman of Panevezys branch (1997-2003).
